Print method

Sublimation printing: colour that becomes part of the fabric.

The ink turns into a gas and bonds with polyester fibres, so the print can cover a jersey or flag edge to edge, and you can't feel it at all. No minimum order.

How it works

How sublimation printing works.

  1. 1

Your design is printed onto transfer paper with sublimation inks.

  2. 2

Under heat and pressure, the ink turns into a gas and bonds with the polyester.

  3. 3

The design is now part of the material, so it can't crack, peel or wash out.

Feel: None: the ink is inside the fibres.

Why choose sublimation printing

  • Edge-to-edge printing: whole jerseys, sleeves and collars, full flags and banners
  • Nothing to feel, and jerseys stay light and breathable
  • Colours don't crack, peel or fade in the wash
  • Unlimited colours and photos
  • No minimum order

Good to know

  • Works on white or light polyester only; not on cotton or dark garments (use DTF, screen printing or embroidery instead)
  • Sublimation can't print white: white parts of a design show the colour of the material

FAQ

Sublimation printing: common questions.

What is sublimation printing?

Sublimation uses heat to turn special inks into a gas that bonds with polyester fibres. The design becomes part of the fabric, so you can't feel it, and it can't crack or peel. It's ideal for all-over sports jerseys, fabric flags and mugs.

Can you sublimate on cotton or black t-shirts?

No. Sublimation only bonds with polyester, and the ink is transparent, so it needs a white or light background. For cotton or dark garments we use DTF, screen printing or embroidery instead.

Is there a minimum order for sublimation?

No. You can order a single jersey, flag or mug.

Why choose sublimation for sports jerseys?

The whole jersey can be printed, including sleeves and collar, the fabric stays light and breathable, and names, numbers and sponsor logos won't crack or peel however often it's washed.
